I was a volunteer caregiver with Zen Hospice in San Francisco for years and I also talked with our guests about family visits and travel images in general, like waiting at a bus stop. But not everyone. That's what I wanted to add. A little less than half in my experience.
As it happens I am now using VR to build immersive worlds for a guided experience of getting used to the idea of being mortal. A new spin on the Mysteries. If you have any interest in XR, I would be happy to share more.
Tom, I definitely remember. I checked out your pieces on Banksy previously and think that's a stellar idea to integrate his artwork with VR. His art is often exposed to the elements and possible future construction and changes. The VR could not only be a way to expose people to the pieces that may never be able to visit them, but also save them for future generations. In the same vein, I remember reading about the Egyptian temple at Karnak. There's an effort to record ancient writing on its massive walls and put them in a database to save them for posterity. Imagine using VR here. It could open all kinds of doors to archeologists around the world and preserve human treasures in a more natural detail. Lots of possibilities there.
